Arthur Mafokate Becomes the Latest Celeb Linked to Fraud. Towards the need of 2022, two prominent actors found themselves trending on social media for fraud allegations. Terry Pheto and Presley Chweneyagae, who both starred on TSotsi film, are accused of defrauding the National Lotteries Commission.

The multi-award winning Terry, was pointed out among other eight individuals accused of fraud relating to funding by the commission. They are said to have defrauded the commission, R25 million. As for Presley, he is accused of misusing funds from the National Lotteries Commission.

We now have yet another top celebrity, making headlines for fraud. Arthur Mafokate who is not new to controversy is accused of some alleged fraud and corruption at the National Lotteries Commission. He is alleged to be tangled up in the misappropriation of R56m in community development funds from the commission.

The Special Investigating Unit has obtained a preservation order to freeze a plot, a farm and three luxury properties valued at R53m, one of which belongs to the music legend and businessman. Together with his co-accused, they are prohibited, and restrained from selling, disposing of, leasing, transferring, donating, or dealing in any manner whatsoever with respect to the immovable properties.

This is not the first Arthur finds himself in this kind of a mess. Last year, it was reported that companies directly and indirectly linked to him had allegedly received funding from the National Arts Council. It was alleged that he received more than R10m in funding from the council. Arthur vehemently denied the allegations saying they are malicious and unfounded.
