Naledi Chirwa On Why She Is Not Defending Her Pastor Bushiri Amidst Rape Allegations. A number of women have recently come out in public to accuse some well known men for rape and sexual assault. Lerato Moloi, Lady Zamar, Lorraine Moropa, are some of the women who boldly took to social media to tell their story.
The latest man to find himself in a hot soup is prophet Shepherd Bushiri. In an interview with eNCA on Wednesday night, two women revealed accused the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church leader, of rapping them. Just as expected, this made trending news on various social media platforms.
The EFF party and Naledi Chirwa were also dragged in the issue because of their relationship with Bushiri. Some Twitter users went as far as tagging Naledi Chirwa asking her to comment on the allegations leveled against Bushiri,to which she said she’ll speak up at her own time.
Well, the EFF member of parliament has finally addressed issue, and spoke in general about the rape pandemic that is happening in the country. As for not standing by Bushiri, Naledi emphasized that when it comes to rape, she believes the victim.
“I’m surprised people legit are disappointed that I didn’t defend Bushiri just because he’s my pastor. Are you guys on drugs? I don’t defend my own blood in my own home. How on earth did you imagine this would be a ‘gotcha’ moment.“
