Lasizwe Heartbroken By The Homophobic Attacks He Endured After His Tweet On Zimbabwe. Over the past couple of days, Zimbabweans caught the attention of the world as images and videos of police brutality circulated on social media. Influential personalities like Samkelo Ndlovu, Natasha Thahane, Mmusi Maimane, Masasa Mbangeni, DJ Fresh took to Twitter to show they stand with their African brothers and sisters.
Another celebrity, Lasizwe, who always steps up to help those in need shared a tweet to show his solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, not everyone appreciated the YouTuber and media personality’s tweet. Some of the Zimbabweans who commented wanted nothing to do with Lasizwe because of his sexual orientation.
This did not sit well with Lasizwe and he has since taken the tweet down. Lasizwe explains the homophobia as heartbreaking, and said that the freedom of the LGBTQI community still has a long way to go in the continent.
“The homophobia I am currently experiencing from my fellow African brothers and sisters is heart breaking! We still have a long way to go for the LGBTQI community to be free in Africa,” he stated.
