When it was announced that Miss South Africa was going to be broadcast on the channel, it was evident that the rating were going to go up. On top of everything else, Bonang Matheba was announced as the host, and everyone looked forward to seeing the queen of hosting. From the get go, Bonang campaigned for viewers, going for radio interviews and the like. The celebrated media personality spoke about what to expect, as well as the gorgeous outfits she will rock.
Her work paid off, as many were glued to their screens Sunday evening. According to entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela, the pageant brought in 1.8 million viewers this past Sunday. This is double what S3’s top rated programme currently pulls.

A lot of people feel the number could have been more if it was not because of load shedding. Many experienced power cuts, and they could not watch the finale. Nonetheless, this is a big number, and it’s worth celebrating. Both Bonang and Relebogile are very excited over the amazing achievement.
