Nelisiwe Sibiya Beats the Odds to Bag An International Award. Sometimes one just have to silence their critics with actions. When it comes to talent that is always questioned, Nelisiwe Sibiya‘s name is right there at the top. Despite all the negativity, she always rises to the occasion, and her efforts are thus recognized.

Nelisiwe made a name for herself whens she got cast as Dr Mbali Mthethwa from Durban Gen three years ago. This wasn’t the award winning actress and singer’s debut in the entertainment industry. In 2016, she released hit single, Mama ka Bafana, the theme song for prison series, Lockdown.

Quite a number of people on social media have spoken badly about her acting skills. Although it’s a sad experience to go through, Nelisiwe blocked the noise and kept pushing. For the role, she won the Best Actress in Africa award at Zikomo Awards in 2021.

She has just bagged another accolade, this time an international one.

Iโ€™d like to take this moment and thank each and everyone one of you. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ญ I get so emotional because I know youโ€™ve been supporting me from day one of my acting career, when I started I was so scared because I knew people would judge and try to bring me down as I was just known as a musician not them knowing that I In fact also studied and graduated with drama.

In my I can say 3 years from 2020 of my acting career in @durbangen_etv this is my 5th/6th award.

After being called names and being judged I canโ€™t believe I am honestly an international multi-award winning actress ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ ,” talk about defying the odds.

Nelisiwe further went on to thank her God, and ancestors. She also credited the win to putting work in her craft as an actress. Theย  award is dedicated to every young black girl from the rural areas and locations who have nothing but just a dream.
