Applications Open for the Mercedes-Benz South Africa Enterprise & Supplier Development Funding Programme. The programme is aimed at Exempted Micro Enterprises (EME’s) and Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSE’s), that are Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) compliant and black-owned, operating within the automotive industry value chain in the Eastern Cape and/or Gauteng Provinces.

The Funding Focus Areas Include:

  • Market research
  • Training and coaching (technical and non-technical)
  • Event agencies and agency services
  • Photography and content creation
  • Gastronomy
  • Cleaning services
  • Road transport of production material and parts
  • Road transport for carrier services
  • Parts warehouse operations aftersales
  • Architectural services
  • Electrical, installation and lighting services
  • Inhouse reworking of production parts and production vehicles
  • Autobody Repair Centre

Application Process

To apply for the Enterprise & Supplier Development Programme, applicants are required to submit a complete application accompanied by all supporting documentation as outlined below.

NOTE: Failure to include the required documentation will result in the application not being considered for funding. Except, in instances where a supporting document(s) cannot be submitted owing to a legitimate company-related reason, a letter placed on the company letterhead and signed by the company directors, must be provided motivating the reasons for exclusion. Mercedes-Benz South Africa will review the submitted letter to consider whether the application meets the requirements, at its sole and absolute discretion.

Required Supporting Documents:

1. Company registration documents (CIPC registration certificate indicating the directors and shareholders)
2. Signed share certificates and share register
3. Certified ID copies of shareholders and directors (certification should not be older than 3 months from date of application)
4. Company profile (indicating the sector, goods and services rendered)
5. Company organogram (indicating branches, subsidiaries and associates or partner companies)
6. Organogram indicating shareholders, directors and employees
7. B-BBEE certificates or sworn affidavits of the measured entity
8. Confirmation of the company size (indicating EME/QSE/Generic)
9. Signed Annual Financial Statements for the last three (3) years, or management accounts
10. Tax clearance certificate, or Tax Compliance Status (TCS), or SARS Letter of Good Standing
11. VAT registration certificate, or letter indicating VAT registration
12. Proof of physical company address
13. Strategic plan, business plan, or other similar planning documents
14. Overview of quotations to support funding requests
15. Bank confirmation letter
16. Bank statements (for 6 – 12 months)
17. Copies of significant contracts and other agreements, or letters of intent
18. Summary of terms of significant long-term contracts with customers and/or suppliers
19. List of registered accreditation
20. Business/ funding proposal presentation formulated in Microsoft PowerPoint, converted to PDF including:

  • Company profile
  • Company organogram
  • B-BBEE status
  • Employee organogram
  • Overview of existing contracts
  • Funding request accompanied by quotations
  • Strategic plan, business plan, or other similar planning documents
  • Current financial overview and future projections

5. By submitting an application, the applicant confirms that all information provided is true, accurate and complete, and acknowledges that any misrepresentation or omission may result in disqualification or withdrawal of funding at MBSA’s discretion.”

6. “All applications and supporting documentation submitted to MBSA will be treated as confidential, subject to applicable law; however, applicants acknowledge and consent to MBSA processing such information, including personal information, for the purposes of evaluating applications and administering the programme, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.”
