Vusiwe Ngcobo Expresses Gratitude for Being Among the Main Anchors on the SABC During AFCON. From the 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, we got served the best football matches from the continent. This is all thanks to the African Cup of Nations tournament, which took place in Morocco. Twenty-four of Africa’s men’s national football teams competed in the 2025 tournament, keeping fans entertained during the festive season and beyond
Those who didn’t travel to the Northern country, watched from TV, got updates online, and listened on the radio. Here in South Africa, we are blessed to have mediums like SABC, which brought the games live to us. Anchors and sports analysts kept viewers entertained as they shared their predictions and views on the games. Among those who did a stellar job is media personality Vusiwe Ngcobo.
Vusiwe joined the broadcaster in 2010 as a voice-over artist for Sports Buzz. She then went on to present special events such as the Olympics, Paralympics, marathons and boxing. In 2013, she took a break from presenting to complete her articles. In 2015, the child star returned to being a sport presenter. Vusiwe was one of the main anchors, who held it down during AFCON. She has expressed gratitude for the gig,and is looking forward to the next one.
“Delayed post but AFCON 2025 wrapped!
From the first whistle to final drama, African football once again reminded us of its beauty, passion and power.
I’m truly honoured to have been trusted as one of the main anchors on the SABC, telling these stories to the continent and beyond. Grateful for the journey, the team, and the beautiful game, until we do it again ⚽️,” Vusiwe said in gratitude.
