A Number of SA Hit TV Shows Halt Production Due To Covid-19 Scare. There is no doubt that Coronavirus has taken over our lives. A month ago the local TV and film industry was been given the green light to resume their work under lockdown level 4. Unfortunately as the virus is not backing down, some production houses are now having to temporarily shut down.

The much loved SABC1 drama, Skeem Saam had to temporarily shut down sue to covid-19 scare. SABC 2 weekday shows, Muvhango and 7de Laan also stopped production after their employees came into contact with someone who has the virus. SABC2’s Lithapo series also briefly shuttered production before resuming on Monday after a possible case turned out negative

Rhythm City and Scandal! which air on e.tv also found themselves having to halt production because of the same problem. A few weeks ago Tshedza Films announced that the River will be going on a break after their crew member tested positive for the virus.
