A major corporate clothing company is looking for a designer with extensive technical knowledge.
Requirements:
- Fashion design diploma/degree.
- Minimum five years’ experience as a fashion designer in the clothing industry.
- Tech pack development experience with extensive technical knowledge.
- Coral Draw X3 and Photoshop experience. Other design packages will be advantageous.
- Experience in the fashion industry with a strong focus in the retail sector.
- Having worked with any of the major chain stores will be of an advantage.
- Experience in working with a brand and growing that brand. Potential candidate must give details on a brand that he/she has worked with and stats on brand growth from the acquisition of the brand and forward.
- Creative thinker, who works well under pressure, is able to multitask, work within tight deadlines and is able to put in the extra hours should there be a need for it.
- Understanding of patterns and grading is of absolute importance.
- In-depth knowledge of a clothing factory operation will be an advantage for tech pack creations.
- Good eye for fashion.
- An honest individual who is a team player.
- An individual that can take direction and constructive criticism from managers.
Responsibilities and skills:
- To work closely with the sales and procurement team to create designs and tech packs.
- Research and interpret the seasonal trends, and understand the brands through product development.
- Designs to be brand specific for various customer target markets.
- To work closely with the sales team to create unique and cohesive collections to service the customers’ expectations in corporate, retail && hospitality industry.
- To work with your team to ensure that the agreed point of view for the brand is followed through from concept to in-store delivery and in doing so build brand awareness and increased turnover.
- Understanding very quickly each brand under our umbrella.
- Working within budgets.
