adidas is offering a Permanent Part-Timer opportunity at its Gateway Durban store. This role is ideal if you enjoy retail, value customer service and want to grow within a global sportswear brand. You support daily store operations while delivering a consistent and high quality adidas customer experience.

Role purpose and importance

You assist store management with daily operations and store maintenance. You help ensure the store runs efficiently and meets service and sales standards. Your role directly influences customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.

Key responsibilities

Customer service and sales

• Deliver the highest level of adidas service to every customer
• Greet customers and assist them in finding the right product
• Use add on selling and explain product features to increase sales
• Serve as a front door greeter during busy trading periods when required

Store operations

• Process sales transactions using cash, card and approved payment methods
• Learn and use the point of sale system accurately
• Assist with product ticketing and verify paperwork against received stock
• Support stock movement from the stockroom to the sales floor

Visual merchandising and housekeeping

• Assist with merchandise displays based on management guidance
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and general store housekeeping

Security and compliance

• Safeguard company assets at all times
• Monitor the sales floor and report suspicious activity
• Follow loss prevention and SLAP procedures strictly

Training and performance awareness

• Complete all in store and digital training through Atticus and AREA
• Build strong product knowledge and apply best practice
• Use Power BI tools to understand store performance, best sellers and underperforming products

Knowledge, skills and abilities required

• Strong passion for retail and customer service
• Ability to use initiative and work independently when needed
• Clear, confident and positive communication skills
• Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings and weekends
• Ability to adapt to changing tasks and fast moving situations
• Previous fashion retail experience is an advantage but not essential
