Franje, who was a sister to former Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters lost her battle to cerebellar agenesis, a condition she was born with. This meant that she didn’t have a cerebellum and her brain was unable to receive information from the sensory systems, her spinal cord, and the parts of the brain that could help manage her motor movements.

Despite the difficulties she faced, she was the apple of her sister’s eye. Demi took to Instagram to remember her with a touching message which reads, “14 years of knowing you our little princess!
