SA Celebs Who Became Pastors. In many cases the entertainment industry and Christianity rarely go together. These celebrities though managed to be church leaders while still making a name for themselves in the entertainment industry.

The likes of Pushie Watson, Benjamin Dube, Dr Tumi, Kabelo and Khaya Mthethwa are clear examples that you can be anything you want to be, if you set your eyes on it.

Kabelo Mabalane

Talk about turning over a new leaf. KWAITO star Kabelo Mabalane has completely given his life to God and serving in the church. The musician who has been through trials and tribulations is now Pastor Kabelo Mabalane.

Khaya Mthethwa

We first got introduced to Khaya Mthethwa when he entered and won Idols SA competition. The singer and media personality is an ordained pastor and preaches at his father’s Reverend, Bhekithemba Mthethwa’s Oasis Church in Umlazi, Durban.

Pushie Watson

A few years ago Pushie Watson was on SABC 1’s Jam Alley, a 999 Music dancer, actress on Backstage and host on Channel O. These days the mom of two is a pastor and often preaches at Rhema Bible Church in Joburg.

Dr Tumi

The award winning musician comes from a christian background. His father, who is a pastor, bought him his very first keyboard when he was nine. He learned to play the instrument himself and started performing at his father’s church. Dr Tumi officiated at the much publicized KFC wedding a few days ago.

Benjamin Dube

Pastor Benjamin Dube has been preaching the gospel since day one. Among his many titles, he is a pastor, a music ministerial visionary, anointed songwriter and singer, music producer, mentor/father and pastor to many musicians and an inspiration to secular artists in South Africa.
