Thembi Seete On How Shona Ferguson Revived Her Love For Acting. Two days ago marked a month since the passing away of Shona Ferguson. His widow Connie Ferguson and their daughters Lesedi and Ali took to social media to pay touching tributes to him.
Colleagues, fans as well as South Africans at large also took a moment to remember the late Shona. Among those who shared touching messages are SK Khoza, Gail Mabalane and Thembi Seete. They all spoke about how Shona touched their lives both personally and professionally.
Thembi, who had the privilege of being Shona’s leading lady on hit film, The Gift, spoke highly of him, more so on how he reignited her love for acting. The talented musician, actress and TV personality said that four years ago, she had such a bad experience in acting that she thought she will never pursue it again. She then ran into Shona who came through with the greatest advice for Thembi. The two also starred alongside each other on another Ferguson Films production, Kings of Joburg.
Shona also gave Thembi all the confidence she needed to be the leading lady on Mzansi Magic telenovela, Gomora. He gave her the assurance that she has to do the show, and here we are. Talk about a hero who touched the hearts of many in amazing ways.
“I remember 4 years I was at the point were I thought to myself, I will never act again because of the bad experience I had.
I’m not going to get into details, but
I lost confidence and I stopped believing in myself.
It’s just so happened that one of the days when I was shooting, I bump into Mr Sho
And he asked if I’ll ever consider acting again
but then my response to him was,if it’s it’s your show,I’ll do it in a heartbeat.

That’s the kind of brother and sister friendship I had with Mr Sho
He had time and treated everyone the same
