Job Overview

The Counter Sales Consultant will serve as the first point of contact for customers visiting the Centurion branch. The role focuses on providing expert advice, generating sales and ensuring customers receive the right tools and machinery for their needs. You will also assist with stock control, branch administration, housekeeping and maintaining high customer service standards. This position requires strong product knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a busy retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting suitable tools and machinery.
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
• Generate sales to achieve branch growth targets.
• Maintain accurate stock level control.
• Assist with branch administrative and operational duties.
• Follow all branch procedures and company policies.
• Maintain excellent product knowledge.
• Support merchandising and stock replenishment activities.
• Promote a positive image of the company.
• Ensure the branch is clean, organised and well presented.
• Assist with staff supervision where required.
• Continuously develop product knowledge and sales skills.

Requirements and Skills

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12) is the minimum qualification.
• Own reliable vehicle is essential.
• Previous experience in Automotive, Engineering, Tools and Machinery or Hardware environments will be advantageous.
• Experience with retail branch procedures is beneficial.
• Technical knowledge of DIY, hardware or machinery products is advantageous.
• Strong sales and customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Honest, reliable and professional attitude.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to learn and continuously improve product knowledge.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 08:00 to 17:00.
• Saturday: 08:00 to 13:00.
