“When the Time Is Right, I the Lord Will Make It Happen,” Gail Mabalane Expressed Gratitude for Her SAFTA. The South African Film and Television Awards took place over two nights, on 13 and 14 March 2026 in Johannesburg. The SAFTAs celebrated the creative brilliance and talent behind the scenes and on screen who continue to set the benchmark for exceptional storytelling.
Among those who won an award is none other that Gail Mabalane. She won an award for Best Actress in a TV Drama. This was a big one for Gail, as it marks her first SAFTA.

The award winning actress and entrepreneur also gave a shout out to her beautiful family. She credits her husband Kabelo Mabalane and their two children for being her biggest cheerleaders. Gail also thanked them for the sacrifices they make so she can do what she loves.
