The storyline centers around Hlomu, an ambitious journalist, who falls for a charming taxi driver, Mqhele Zulu. His secrets unfortunately draws her into a dark underworld. There is cheating and the usual drama associated with running a taxi empire. Every Thursday, viewers look forward to a new episode of the show, and they are never disappointed. This Thursday, final four episodes of Season 1 dropped and sadly there will be no new episodes next week. Fans will have to wait for the 17th of February for the return of season II.
The Wife is inspired by Dudu Busani-Dube’s books Hlomu the Wife and its sequels. Some viewers who have read the books, complain that The Hlomu Series And The Wife are two totally different things, but at the end of the day spectacular acting is delivered all the time. Cast members like Mbalenhle Mavimbela, Bonko Khoza, Mondli Makhoba, Zikhona Sodlaka, Abdul Khoza, Linda Majola and Khanyi Mbau gave a stellar performance this season.
