Department of Education Dragged For Appointing Celebrities As Lockdown Teachers

Department of Education Dragged For Appointing Celebrities As Lockdown Teachers. Although we are going through lockdown, there has been a programme implemented to make sure learners do not totally lose out.

The digital learning initiative, Free Stem Lockdown Digital School, started over the Easter weekend and is aimed to assist pupils with their studies during the extended lockdown, set until the end of April.

As much as this is a good initiative, many are not impressed that celebrities got the gig. Among celebrities appointed include, Pearl Modiadie, Penny Lebyane, Enhle Mbali, Khaya Mthethwa, DJ Sbu and Mohale Motaung.

There are a number of unemployed teachers who feel they could have been considered for the job. Many tweeps slammed the department for appointing celebs instead of qualified teachers.
