Mpho Sebeng Bags An International Award Nomination. When it comes to international awards, South African actors are up there with some of the best people in the industry. Case in point will be Thuso Mbedu, who is currently dominating the international scene. The multi award winning actress recently made history as the first female to win best leads in TV series at the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards.
We have also seen a lot of our actors on local short films bag major international awards. In 2020 Losing Lerato won big in the US, with actors and crew members scooping six awards at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema. The likes of Refilwe Modiselle, Mmabatho Montsho and so many others scoop international awards recently.
By the look of things, we might increase our international awards very soon. The nomination list of the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema and some of our actors have received nods. Some of Thando The Movie cast and production crew members are nominated. Among those is the talented Mpho Sebeng who has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film.

The feature film also stars Zikhona Bali, Siyabonga Shibe, Khayakazi Kula, Thembi Nyandeni, Jerry Phele and newcomer Kgaisang Noge. Thando follows the story of a troubled teenager who attempts suicide when dealing with the loss of her mother. Other nominated actors and crew members include Kagiso Modupe, who has been nominated under the Best Director in a Feature Film category.
Talented actress Zikhona Bali, has been nominated for Best Actress in a Feature Film.

Thembi Nyandeni got nominated for Best Actress in a Feature Film
Sam Leburu got nominated for Best Cinematography in a Feature Film
