News Anchor Journalist Wanted At Heart FM
News Anchor Journalist Wanted At Heart FM. Heart FM requires a radio news anchor capable of fulfilling all the expectations of a radio news journalist, who is also able to compile and read bulletins live on air. What we’re offering is a full-time position in a small but powerful newsroom that’s carved a niche as the radio news leader for local content. You won’t be permanently stuck behind a desk: we try to get to the source, and onto the streets to speak to people as much as possible. And you’ll be working for a radio brand with an authentic relationship with its listeners that’s grown into the largest audience for any commercial station in the province.
Requirements
- A national diploma or equivalent in journalism, or in a directly related field
- At least two years’ work experience in the newsroom of a radio station.
- We’ll only consider applicants without a qualification if you can bring significant relevant experience and proven skills to the table.
- Excellent writing, interviewing and field reporting skills
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Be able to rapidly claim a space on air as a credible source of information for our listeners; reading news bulletins, and sometimes engaging in dialogue with our on-air personalities about the issues of the day.
- Experience at posting news stories to social media, and online through a CMS platform will be a big advantage.
- Be passionate about current affairs, flexible about their daily working times, and committed to the highest standards of journalistic ethics.
- Committed to accuracy above all other considerations.
- Proficiency with radio news software (we currently use Burli).
- Online and social media news reporting experience.
- A positive attitude and commitment to excellence.
- Your own transport.
