Moneoa Gets Starstruck By Her Favourite Actress Taraji P. Henson
And just like us, even the biggest stars can get tongue-tied and starry-eyed around their own personal idols. When you see your favourite on the TV, and then suddenly, there they are in the flesh before you, it must be hard to get your head around. So when singer and actress Moneoa met Taraji P Henson for the first time, she couldn’t contain her excitement but quickly went to her Instagram and posted a video of her encounter with the star.
She wrote this on the post :
“My laaaawwwd !!! Where do I begin !???
This is my favourite actress in the whole wide world.
What an honour it was to perform for her in my country…
And as special as that was for me, it’s not the reason I was so moved by her.
This phenomenal woman, this beautiful black queen, this BET and Golden Globe winning, Oscar and Emmy nominated (to name a few) and also JUST brilliant actress got up, walked from her seat and table, pulled up a chair and sat in front of me to get a better view of my performance last night.
She then cheered me on and even sang along to my music.
Before she left, she gave me the warmest hug and this happened…??
Mama, I know you’ve probably never heard of me or even heard my music. You didn’t have to do or say any of that so that fact that you did? The fact that someone of your stature could show such a humble gesture, humbles me beyond words.
