Mr South Africa 2025 1st Runner-Up Khutso Mokoena On How Participating In the Pageant Shaped Him. Congratulations are in order for Khutso Mokoena, who was recently crowned as Mr South Africa 2025 First Runner Up. The first place went to JP Geldenhuys with Dirk Smuts bagging coming third.
A couple of months back, he shared in an interview on Alex FM, why he joined the pageant. Khutso used the platform to show those from humble backgrounds to know that there is no shame in not having much. Just like him, one can still make it in life, regardless of where they come from. Now Khutso has achieved more than that, including coming out as a better person.
“Mr South Africa 2025 has been a journey of brotherhood. A journey of self discovery, self improvement and real growth. This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone and stretched me in ways I never expected. I walked in as one man and I walked out as a better one. I learned very quickly that comfort is where dreams go to die, and this journey proved that stepping into the unknown is where purpose comes alive,” he said.
The reality show star also expressed gratitude to Mr South Africa organization, and the sponsors. Khutso recognizes them for creating a platform where men from different backgrounds can stand together, learn from each other, share their hearts and even share their sweat. For a moment they all forgot that it was a competition as they were building a solid brotherhood that will outlive the stage.
“To everyone who supported me, bought tickets, came to the event, watched me on stage and shouted my name, thank you. Every cheer, every prayer and every message carried me through the long days and late nights. I appreciate you more than words can express.
This journey has not ended because it became bigger than the title. It sharpened my focus, it strengthened my purpose and it built me into a man I am proud to become.
I walk forward with gratitude, with determination and with the lessons that shaped me along the way.
