Siphiwe Mtshali Among the Speakers At An Upcoming Event All About Shaping Better Men. Over the past few weeks we have been witnessing a number of our celebrities jump in the purple campaign, in various ways. This is an initiative by Woman for Change SA organization, to give gender-based violence and femicides the much needed attention.
South African women have been urged by the organization to silence the nations on Friday, 21 November 2025. All women and members of the LGBTQI+ community across the country are asked to refrain from all paid and unpaid work in workplaces, universities, homes, and communities. Celebrities like Melissa Nayimuli, Mbalenhle Mavimbela, Bonang Matheba, Anele Mdoda, Enhle Mbali and many others have joined in.
It’s also heartwarming to see other initiatives calling on for men to be better. The 1st Annual Targeting Better Men Initiative, is aiming to do just that. The event will look into shaping better men, healthier communities, and stronger families. Among the speakers there is talented actor and TV personality Siphiwe Mtshali. He will share his journey, lessons from his 3 decades experience in the industry. Mtshali will also lead conversations that help men grow, heal, and lead with purpose.
