SA Celebs Join The World To Mourn The Wire Actor Michael K Williams. On a very sad note, the world has lost yet another star. On Monday American actor Michael K Williams was found dead in his New York apartment. According to sources, the 54 year old was discovered face-down and unresponsive in the dining room of his luxury Williamsburg pad with what appeared to be heroin on the kitchen table.
Michael was well known for portraying notorious stickup man Omar Little on “The Wire”. He was also well-known for the role of Albert ‘Chalky’ White on the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. Michael received a 2021 Emmy nomination for his performance in HBO’s Lovecraft Country.
Apart from being a talented actor, he was a also a people’s person loved by many across the world. Even down her in South Africa, he had some personal encounters with some of our celebrities. Among them is multi award winning DJ, Black Coffee and model Babalwa Mneno who penned beautiful tributes about the legend. Media personality Sizwe Dhlomo also took to twitter to pay his tribute.
