Omuhle Gela Quits Uzalo With Immediate Effect. A couple of months ago fans were excited as Omuhle Gela announced that she was making a comeback to the small screen. She together with other stars bagged roles on SABC1’s hit drama Uzalo.
The talented actress, TV personality and entrepreneur was cast to play Nomaswazi Magwaza. The character is a beautiful, smart, and conniving woman that moves stealthily, much like her mother, Njinji. The matriarch of the Magwaza family is, played by Thembi Nyandeni, a ruthless wolf in sheep’s clothing, whose power-play dealings is definitely shaking the whole of Kwamashu community. TV personality, comedian and actor Siyabonga Radebe played, Noma’s cousin Vikizitha Magwaza, who is a criminal.
Ever since the family entered the scene on Uzalo, the responses have already been overwhelming. Sadly the family is getting smaller as some of the newly added cast members have left Uzalo. Just after 6 months with the show, Siyabonga called it quits. It is still not quite clear why the veteran actor and TV personality left.
Now Omuhle has followed suit, by leaving Uzalo. She shared on her Instagram that indeed the reports are true, that she has left with immediate effect. Apparently she had a disagreement with her employees, who did not honor their side of the contract. For this role, Omuhle left Johannesburg to KZN, but the contract she got had different terms and conditions form what it was initially discussed and agreed on.
“I’ve unfortunately made the decision to leave the show with immediate effect, everything said on this article is 100% true and I have nothing further to add or dispute,” Omuhle said.
