Job Description

Key responsibilities – primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role:

• Producing a layout for each page of a weekly publication.
• Understanding and using text formatting.
• Deep-etching of photographs.
• Retouching and editing of photographs for litho printing.
• Ensuring print-readiness of layout files.

Requirements

• Has very good Apple Mac skills and knowledge.
• Is adept at using Adobe Creative Suite 5 (page layouts in Adobe Indesign).
• Understands lithographic print requirements and process colour densities.
• Is creative and has an eye for visual balance.
• Effectively prioritizes a varied workload.
• Works well under pressure and to strict deadlines.
• Is able to adapt quickly to new creative briefs, and can work at a rapid pace when required.
• Is able to work independently as well as in a team.
•  Follows a design brief closely.
