Tamaryn Green And Ze Nxumalo Celebrate Another Stage of Their Wedding. Over the weekend Tamaryn Green and her husband Ze Nxumalo had their Umabo. This is the closing ceremony of traditional Zulu weddings.
As with most cultures there are different stages in a Zulu wedding. The first being the payment of lobola, and once that has been paid izibizo will follow, where gifts are given to the bride’s family, followed by umbondo where the bride reciprocates by buying groceries for the groom’s family, and finally the actual wedding or umabo.
Former Miss South Africa and medical doctor Tamaryn and her businessman partner, Ze Nxumalo, have celebrated the most beautiful stages of their wedding. The couple, announced their relationship back in 2018, and Ze proposed in April 2021. In October 2021, the duo had an umembeso ceremony, which is a Zulu tradition that celebrates the union of two people before the official wedding ceremony.
This April the gorgeous couple had an intimate black-tie ceremony in Cape Town to celebrate their white wedding. The guests in attendance at the occasion included Miss Universe South Africa 2020 Natasha Joubert, Miss South Africa 1994 Basetsana Kumalo, TV personality K Naomi, media personality Anele Mdoda and EFF leader Julius Malema, among others.
Over the weekend the Nxumalos went all out for their Umabo. As expected, everything was on point, with no expenses spared. Azul and Don Julio were on top and top artists such as Zakes Bantwini and Zoke performed at the ceremony. The couple also looked the part with their breathtaking Zulu attires. The likes of Basetsana and Romeo Kumalo, K Naomi and Tshepo Phakathi, as well as Nandi Madida were part of the guest list.
