“I’m Proud of My Progress,” Lira On Yet Another Milestone

“I’m Proud of My Progress,” Lira On Yet Another Milestone. Since suffering a stroke back in April 2022, Lira has been taking things easy. Even though that was the case, she kept updating her fans about her progress on social media.

Born Lerato Molapo, Lira the multi-award winning songstress suffered a stroke while she was in Germany for a performance. After that Lira was diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects how you communicate and which can impact speech and comprehension. Her ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, was impacted. This was worrying, more so since she uses her vocals to be the superstar that she is.

As they say in showbiz, the show must go on. In July 2023, Lira had her first media interview on 702 radio station. She was interviewed by renowned media personality, actress and producer Relebogile Mabotja. Although her voice was shaky, Lira stated that she is excited with how much progress she is making.

I’m very excited, because I can speak, and I can speak well!”, she said then.

Now she has done another media interview, this time with Sunday Times publication. This is her first in person interview. Talking about her progress, Lira shared that she speaks so much better now, something she is quite proud of.

This day has been satisfying 👌🏾🤩❤️. I did my first in person interview with Sunday Times which will be out this Sunday. I’m speaking SO much better – I’m proud of my progress 🙏🏾❤️,” Lira said in escitement.
