Sad Note: Legendary Muscian Hugh Masekela Has Passed Away. Jazz legend Hugh Masekela has died. He
lost his battle with prostate cancer. The musician’s team released a statement in October saying he had been battling prostate cancer since 2008.
Hugh has had emergency treatment in September to neutralize the tumor and subsequently cancelled all of his music commitments to continue the fight against prostate cancer. He died peacefully surrounded by his family.
Celebrities and South Africans at large continue to pour in messages of condolences.
