5 SA Celebs Who Have Been Accused Of Women Abuse In 2017. It is sad to note that a country  as developed as ours is rated among the most hit by domestic violence. Women across the country live in fear as they are either, raped, beaten or worse, killed daily. Even the most prominent men in the society like celebrities are among abusers. Check out the following celebrities who have had their day in court after being accused of women abuse.

Arthur Mafokate

Assault charges have been laid against businessman and musician Arthur Mafokate. He faces charges for allegedly abusing his ex-girlfriend and musician, Busisiwe Twala known as Cici. The incident Mafokate is accused of took place in June and allegedly caused Thwala to undergo a pelvic replacement operation. Cici opened the case against him in June, claiming he dragged her through the streets with his car.

Brickz

Although he still maintains his innocence, Kwaito star Sipho Ndlovu, popularly known as Brickz is in prison for rape. He has been sentenced to 15 years after being found guilty of raping a 17-year-old relative in 2013. Poet Ntsiki Mazwai also came out saying she is a victim of Brickz who rapped her in the past.

Mthokozisi

2017 Idols SA runner-up Mthokozisi Ndaba is also among those who have been accused of assault this year. Pictures of the alleged abuse were shared on social media, with an image of the alleged victim’s bloody lip and what appeared to be a chipped tooth going viral. However the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court provisionally dropped assault charges against him as a result of outstanding statements.

Mdu Masilela

The Kwaito God father found himself in hot water after, the mother of his child, Sibahle Dlamini, opened a case of assault against him. Dlamini laid a charge of common assault against Masilela to which he responded with a counter charge of assault. He also pulled a gun on his wife sometime this year.

Mduduzi Manana

Former deputy higher education and training minister Mduduzi Manana found himself in hot water for assaulting three women at Cubana nightclub in Fourways, Johannesburg, in August. He was sentenced to a R100‚000 fine‚ or 12 months in prison‚ and 500 hours of community service.
