Tributes Pour In for Social Media Darling Nompilo Dlamini Who Was Battling Cystic Fibrosis. Despite the seriousness of her condition, she was living a very positive life. Nompilo Dlamini courageously battled cystic fibrosis, and used social media to teach the masses about it.

She also used social media to ask for help from those able to. A number of celebrities and individuals used to help where they could. In June 2021, Candice Modiselle came through for Mpilo when she asked for sanitary pads. The award winning media personality and actress brought flowers, and chilled with Mpilo. That time she was hospitalized at at Brenthurst Hospital.

The biggest thing that Nompilo needed though was lung transplant, as hers were shutting down. She needed up to R2 million to be able to travel to India and get a transplant. In 2021, Nompilo asked for donations for the transplant. One of the people who played a big role in getting her donations was Cassper Nyovest. The multi-award winning rapper and entrepreneur donated R100 000 which inspired other donors to dig deep into their pockets. Drip founder, Lekau Sehoana also donated a R100 000.

Although she did travel to India, Mpilo did not get to do the operation due to other complications. She did not lose hope though, continuing to share her daily experienced with her followers.

Sadly Mpilo lost the battle on Monday, leaving a sombre mood on social media.

Cystic fibrosis is a disorder that damages lungs, digestive tract and other organs. It’s an inherited disease caused by a defective gene that can be passed from generation to generation. Cystic fibrosis affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat and digestive juices.
