South Africa’s Lebogang Monyatsi Takes 1st Princess Crown At Miss World Wheelchair 2017

South Africa’s Lebogang Monyatsi Takes 1st Princess Crown At Miss World Wheelchair 2017. She beat the odds as she became first runner up in the first international Miss Wheelchair World Pageant. Adriana Zawadzinska from Poland is the second runner-up and 23-year-old psychology student from Belarus, Aleksandra Chichikova, was chosen as the overall winner.
Monyatsi was the first South African woman in a wheelchair to be a runway model and the first to represent South Africa in the Miss World wheelchair. She has also represented South Africa in the field of Wheelchair Basketball. She has previously won first prize at the second South Africa Youth Awards under the category of extraordinary champions.
The pageant took place in Warsaw, Poland and wanted to spread the message that beauty has no limitations. It was held in an effort to change people’s perceptions about people with disabilities. The event was organized by the Only One Foundation, which was founded by two disabled women seeking to break down barriers limiting disabled people. Congratulations Lebo.
