Merchandiser Wanted At The Citizen. Caxton Newspaper Distributors has a vacancy for a retail merchandiser operating from its premises in Industria, Johannesburg. This is the ideal position for someone who is self-motivated, well presented, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.

Core Job Function:

• Ensure that the merchandising function is implemented in the retail stores
• Ensure that categorization is correct at all times
• Ensure that there are sufficient stock retail outlets at all times
• Ensure all customers are serviced regularly and to an acceptable standard
• Ensure that all signature sheets and census forms are completed on a weekly basis and submitted to the sales allocators timeously
• The incumbent must meet the following criteria
• Be in possession of a valid, unendorsed driver’s license – minimum code EB (eight)
• Have own, reliable transport
• Have own cellphone
• Minimum educational requirement: At least a matric certificate
•  Prepared to work shifts and/or irregular hours
• Be able to liaise with clients and contractors
• Be able to work without supervision and under pressure
• Must be able to do inspections and route plotting in assigned areas
• Must be willing to do ad-hoc deliveries and duties
• Be able to handle admin duties
• Must be honest and reliable
• Must be customer service orientated
• Must be sales and marketing orientated
• Be able to build and grow relationships with retailers

Experience

• At least three years’ experience in the merchandising field
• A good relationship with retailers.

Preference will be given to individuals who add to the diversity of the organization.
