Dumi Masilela’s Hijacking To Be Included As Part Of His Rhythm City Exit. Life is going to imitate art as viewers and fans relive Dumi’s passing. Following his tragic death, Rhythm City has announced that they will be recreating Dumi Masilela’s death through his character Sifiso Ngema.

Dumi’s death is going to be mirrored on the show when Sifiso gets hijacked and killed. Dumi’s family have been consulting with the soapie and the decision has been reached between them. Their aim: to highlight the scourge of violence in South Africa.

The hijacking will happen at the beginning of October but we won’t see it – it’s going to be spoken about by Shakes (Zola Hashatsi) and the world of reality and fiction become one after this. The show’s going to film a memorial service for Sifiso as a tribute to Dumi, which will be attended by Dumi’s mother Sabatha and his brother Thabani. Dumi’s last on-screen appearance will be on Wednesday, 11 October and the memorial will air on the 18th.
