Ex Generations’ Actors Thami Mngqolo and Xoli Zondi Have A New Gig!

It’s no secret that we are big fans of Thami Mngqolo and Xoli Zondi, and were very upset when they got fired from Generations last year. The two actors may have been axed from the popular soapie , but that hasn’t dampened the their spirits as they already appear to have another gig lined up.

Thami, who played “Senzo” on the show, was one of the 16 cast members fired this week after they took part in a strike. The cast claimed that the broadcaster as well as the production company had failed to deliver on promises it made to them during their strike last year.

So what’s next? For Xoli and Thami, it’s a lot of very exciting new projects! And we couldn’t be happier to see most of them finding new work because it means that we still get to watch them do their craft. According to reports, the pair and several others from the soapie have banded together to form a new stage production.

But this isn’t just any kind of stage production. It’s a travelling stage show that brings water awareness to areas in KwaZulu-Natal.

“People should look at the bigger picture, not just the play but the message we are conveying to them. People should be aware the water crisis poses a major risk to the economy of the country,” Xolie says
