Valmont – Quality Assurance Technician Traineeship for 2017
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for a Quality Assurance Technician Trainee – [Shift] position.
“We are looking for a highly driven individual that will ensure that the products manufactured within the Global EIP division’s Quality Department and all materials received from outside divisions meet or exceed quality requirements of the customer and Valmont.
Duties :
•Ensure correct assembly of fabricated materials by dimensional checks and visual inspection of welds
•Learn the methods and theories behind Magnetic Particle and Ultrasonic Non Destructive Testing methods, used to pass or reject materials
•Interpret reports for NDT and pass or reject materials according to quality acceptance
•Record testing and inspection information on the required inspections sheets, production cards, and computer reports
•Maintain a safe and productive work environment, as well as high standard of quality
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of professional welding experience
• Ability to learn methods and theory of Magnetic Particle inspection and pass associated tests to earn Level II certification within one year
• Ability to learn methods and theory of Ultrasonic inspection and pass associated tests to earn Level II certification within eighteen months
• Ability to obtain American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification within two years of eligibility
• A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
• Ability to read and interpret production drawings, specifications and codes
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to pay attention to detail and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work and communicate effectively and efficiently with plant employees, supervisors, management, and customers.
• Must have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record
• Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
• Associates Degree or Certificate in Non Destructive Testing
• Previous experience in a NDT Technician role
• The ability to work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time result without errors
• The ability to prioritize work in order to complete deadlines
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
