Skeem Saam’s Bongani Masondo Opens Up About Why He Put Being A Sangoma On Hold

Skeem Saam’s actor known by his character name Mangaliso explained in an interview with Move! on why he decided to put being a sangoma on hold.

Bongani’s main reason was that he wants to pursue and grow his acting and music career. Most people probably weren’t aware that the actor had practised to be a traditional healer. Back in 2011, he put everything on hold to attend an initiation school.

“I had to thwasa because there was so much going on. I went to an initiation school, where I learnt a lot,” he said. But after going to the initiation school, I had to ask them to allow me to continue with my career and put my sangoma duties on hold,” he said.

Bongani said that he is still going to continue with his practice as a sangoma but for now he wants to devote himself to his career.
