SA Celebs React to the Recent BMW Advert

SA Celebs React to the Recent BMW Advert. When it comes to selling their products and services via advertising, many organizations go all out. They do this to attract new clientele as well as retain their current customers.

One organizations which has been doing well in that department over the years is BMW. The car manufacturers always find creative ways to show off their latest car models. As the car industry is very competitive, BMW makes sure that clients see them as way ahead of their peers.

Their recent advert, has however received different views from social media users across South Africa. The advert is captioned “We are our ancestors’ wildest dreams” with the word ancestors crossed out. This has been regarded as a slap in the face of Africans by some people.

Ntsiki Mazwai is one of those that shared their views on the trending advert. The TV personality, poet and artists did not waste time but posted a video calling out the car brand. She said the company should respect African culture. Ntsiki dedicated most of her day today, to stress her point, stating that BMW went too far. She also bashed those who found nothing wrong with the advert.
“I’m so disgusted…….what in the racism is this now??? So thina our spiritual beliefs are not respected and must be used by white capital for financial gain??? @bmwsouthafrica,” Ntsiki wrote on Instagram.

Another celebrity Anele Mdoda also expressed how impressed she is about the advert. As much as she loves BMW as a brand, Anele feels the advert is insulting more especially to the black community.

Not everyone is offended by the advert though. Siv Ngesi responded to an angry tweep, insinuating that they are just too sensitive. What’s your take on the issue.
