Actress Lorcia Cooper Talks About Her New TV Gig
Lorcia Cooper is to star in the new Prison Drama ‘Lockdown’ on Mzansi Magic. The fit Cape Town mother-of-one will play the role of Tyson, a tough prison boxing champion who is quick to throw a punch when aggravated.
Starring alongside Dawn Thandeka King, Zola Nombona, Lindiwe Ndlovu, Slindile Nondangala to name a few, Lorcia says working with the cast of Lockdown was humbling.
“I am totally humbled and overwhelmed by the women. Usually, and especially in the work place, there is always a measure of comparison and competition, not here,” said Lorcia.
The female inmates are led by the tough Ma Z (Dawn Thandeka King) who is the arch rival of Tyson (Lorcia Cooper) and who wants nothing more than to leave prison and be a good mother.
Produced by Black Brain Pictures, Lockdown promises to tell an authentic South African fictional story.
Lockdown will premiere on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) in January 2017.
