Job description

Johannesburg/ Pretoria x two positions

Community Media Trust (CMT), a national HIV/AIDS Media and Outreach NGO, wishes to appoint two suitably qualified/ experienced individuals to serve as data capturers inJohannesburg/Pretoria. Applicants must reside in Johannesburg/Pretoria. Applicants must have the ability to work in a demanding and high pressured environment, capture data, control data, run reports and create spreadsheets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate capture and entry of all relevant data into the database;
  • Ensure high standard of data quality through accurate timely data validation and quality assurance;
  • Do daily back-ups of data;
  • Print standard reports as and when requested by programme managers;
  • Performs data quality assurance and control measures and timely submission of reports;
  • Interact with colleagues and project management to ensure fulfilment of project objectives;
  • Interact with staff to capture relevant subject-related information;
  • Photocopy and scan relevant data;
  • Filing and administrative duties as required.

Ability to:

  • work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • liaise with people at all levels, internally and externally;
  • work quickly, accurately with attention to detail;

Requirements

  • Matric, tertiary qualification would be advantageous;
  • Experience in data capturing in a research environment or within the public / district health sector;
  • Fluency in English and isiXhosa;
  • Fast and accurate data capturing and entry skills;
  • Time management skills;
  • Highly organised and meticulous;
  • Administrative and organisational skills;
  • Flexible and helpful attitude required at all times
  • Computer literate with a proficient knowledge of MS Office including Access

  • Punctuality, discretion, tact and diplomacy (essential to maintain complete confidentiality of information)
  • Strong team player with exceptional people skills, broad-minded and able to manage a varied and multicultural environment
