Job description

To assist the programming content manager in ensuring that the music and programming content objectives are met.

• Compiling daily music logs
• Scheduling all imaging elements, promos and content features, and specialist shows
• Collating reports for weekly music meeting
• Managing current and gold song categories in consultation with programming content manager
• Loading of song and other audio material onto play-out system
• Maintaining song data information as per SAMRO and SAMPRA requirements
• Handling listener music queries and fielding general content enquiries and comments
• Liaising with record companies and musicians, with regards to playlist queries
• Assisting with sourcing of programming content
• Compiling ICASA, SAMRO and SAMPRA reports

Requirements

• Passion for music – excellent music knowledge and grasp of music genres
• Passion for radio – good understanding of Cape Town radio landscape
• Analytical aptitude – comfortable working with complex levels of music data over sustained periods
• High attention to detail
• Systematic and organised
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Positive, honest and reliable with a high level of integrity
• Enjoys working with technology and has up to date knowledge of social media
• Experience of music scheduling software and play-out systems
• Proficient in MS Word
• Experience of audio editing software

Advantageous

• Matric
• Tertiary education preferable
• Minimum three years’ experience in radio music compiling/music industry
