Role Purpose

The Sales Assistant role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, achieving sales targets, maintaining inventory, and supporting daily store operations. You will also participate in training and merchandising activities to uphold Birkenstock standards.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

• Greet every customer within 30 seconds
• Provide excellent customer service following Birkenstock procedures
• Identify customer needs and demonstrate product benefits
• Close sales and secure add-on purchases
• Encourage repeat visits and build customer loyalty
• Monitor daily sales against individual targets

Inventory Management

• Replenish footwear, apparel, and accessories from the storeroom
• Minimize shrinkage by monitoring the store and following changing room policies
• Ensure stock entries in the POS system are accurate
• Process deliveries, check quantities, tag, hang, price, and record in POS
• Process customer orders efficiently

Daily Operations

• Maintain store housekeeping: dusting, cleaning mirrors, vacuuming, clearing counters, and tidying change rooms
• Assist the manager with store opening and closing

Training & Development

• Take responsibility for your training and learning
• Work with a designated buddy initially
• Attend quarterly training sessions and complete assessments
• Receive monthly feedback and review progress with your store manager
• Follow the Birkenstock rookie pack to track eligibility for promotions

Merchandising

• Maintain stock presentation according to Birkenstock standards
• Replenish sizes as needed
• Assist with changing windows and mannequins fortnightly
• Ensure POS materials are properly stored

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months customer service experience
• Knowledge of Birkenstock is advantageous
• Ability to work flexible shifts
