Job description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Unless the applicant can demonstrate that he/she has gained the necessary competencies through experience, a Diploma or Degree in Marketing is required;
- A minimum of 3 – 4 years’ experience in marketing and events coordination is critical;
- Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in Social Media & Digital Marketing;
- Experience in the Travel Industry will be an added advantage;
- Must have exceptional event co-ordination skills and must be able to pay attention to detail and must be willing to perform both a marketing and sales role;
- The successful applicant must have his/her own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
KEY PERFORMANCE OUTPUTS
- Assist the General Manager to ensure that Contiki is promoted and marketed to the travel trade and consumers utilizing brand guidelines;
- Partly responsible for the roll-out of all marketing campaigns;
- Have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the brand;
- Assist with marketing executions & coordinate production with design support;
- Assist with social media advertising;
- Update Twitter on a daily basis;
- Liaise with consortium marketing teams – update them with current specials and book joint campaigns/ advertising;
- Compile new email signatures with approval from the General Manager by the launch of each new campaign;
- Check and update all consortium partner websites when necessary;
- Ensure that product templates and all products sourced and sent to consortiums are accurate;
- Constantly update the brand website – travel agent + consumer with current special offers or ensure information is relevant & accurate;
- Source, purchase and distribute corporate gifts & hampers;
- Packaging of gifts, hampers and hand-outs for consumers & trade;
- Brief the creative designer on marketing collateral required, monitor the production and design process constantly;
- Plan product launches, trade and consumer shows in-conjunction with the General Manager and other relevant internal & external parties;
- Organise events from A-Z such as sourcing venue, liaise with venue with regards to all details, ensure venue meets professional standards, finalise and ensure everything runs smoothly and to the company’s expectation;
- Handling RSVP’s for all functions;
- Handling of all required collateral for functions (ranging from but not limited to: invitations, menu’s, handouts etc.);
- Ad-hoc assistance for all marketing events such as set up, breakdown and general aesthetics;
- Assist with training where required in the Johannesburg / Pretoria region;
- Manage the roll-out of all public relations campaigns in conjunction with the General Manager & PR consultant;
- Monitor sales on all initiatives through passenger sales on SalesForce (Contiki);
- Assist General Manager with various monthly reports;
- Have a good knowledge of competitors;
- Distribute brochures list daily along with covering letter to send out to consumers;
- Manage stock control of brochures and documents;
- Handle travel arrangements for the General Manager;
- Attend in house staff training and team meetings;
- Actively contribute to the creation of an integrated and focused marketing team;
- Adhere to company ethics standards, and
- Ad-hoc duties as assigned.
