Di Zinhle wanted to be a presenter, and while things haven’t quite turned out that way, she has become a professional Dj, entrepreneur, and, so we reckon that’s close enough.
“I am one of those Zulu girls that fetched water and we used to use candles at home but we were not poor. That was just my upbringing, it was beautiful. My parents were both teachers and education was very important at home. I had a simple childhood and my dad was my hero and he still is, he has past. I moved to joburg in 2002 to study but before then I went to Joburg in 2009 because I wanted to be a presenter”- she said at one of her motivational talks.
“I used to watch Yotv and I remember those kids used to have nice sneakers and they’ll say they are sponsored. So I thought the only way to get free sneakers is to become a TV presenter. And that is the only reason I wanted to be a TV presenter. My brother bought into the story and took me to joburg and in 2009 I enrolled to be a TV presenter but I sucked. So I went back home’, she added.
