Pastor Benjamin Dube Explains How He’s Raising His Sons To Be Great Men
He is one of the brightest and most talented people in Mzansi, but Pastor Benjamin Dube knows that family should always come before fame. Pastor Benjamin Dube recently opened up about raising his four boys alone. Here’s what he had to say about how he handles parenting while making it big in the gospel industry.
Even as the popularity of Pastor Dube continues to rise, he doesn’t lose sight of what is important. He says being a single dad after two divorces required “some serious adjustments”, and by the look of things, he’s slowly mastering it.
“I don’t have many don’ts. The most important thing to do is talk to them, to be at their level and not expect them to be ‘holier than thou’,” he tells us.
At home, he’s a laidback kind of dad, who doesn’t put pressure on his four sons to behave in a certain way just because he’s a pastor.
“It’s not always the norm for pastors’ kids to turn out great. Having lived with them for 10 years, I can’t say this is what I did and this is what I didn’t do. But I have always prayed for them,” the 55-year-old award-winning pastor says.
Pastor Dube opens the doors to his Tuscan-style mansion to us and introduces us to his dynamic family. At the age of 55, Pastor Dube is far from handing over the reins as a pastor or musician. His talent is timeless and he’s leading a pack of young men, his three eldest sons The Dube Brothers, who are set to become gospel superstars, just like their father.
