“That Place is Run Like a Circus,” Bonang Matheba on METRO FM

“That Place is Run Like a Circus,” Bonang Matheba on METRO FM. When it comes to leaving a particular work place, many people advice against burning bridges. This is because, you will never know if your paths will cross again, so you don’t make things awkward for yourself. But sometimes though, some work environments are so toxic, such that you don’t dream of ever going back.

That is the case with a number of former METRO FM employees. Most of them don’t have anything good to say about the radio station. The likes of Pearl Thusi have made it clear that, they won’t return to the radio station. The media personality and actress used to host Saturday Breakfast Show with Phat Joe, before both of them got axed from the radio station. When one social media user asked her a few months back about returning to METRO FM, Pearl said she would rather die.

Another former METRO FM presenter, who doesn’t see herself back at the station is Bonang Matheba. A few years ago, the celebrated media personality stated that METRO FM was a horrible place to work at. Bonang left the radio station after getting calls from her bosses saying asking her to come to the office. She declined because it was Sunday and she was spending time with family.

The next day she was told that she has a new producer and also a new co-host, and that JJ and Naked DJ were gone. She then decided to leave the station because of the unprofessional way they handled everything.

As METRO FM reshuffled employees, some people voiced their concerns on how things are done to radio personalities. Bonang also shared her views, stating that she left because the place is run like a circus.

“Yup. That place is run like a circus. All they wanna do is embarrass you for no good reason. Black people,” Bonang said.
