Job description

Community Media Trust (CMT) a national HIV and AIDS Media and Outreach NGO is looking to recruit a committed, enthusiastic receptionist with initiative, who will be based at our head office. Suitable applicants must reside in Cape Town. We are looking for a receptionist with a minimum of two years’ experience and a traceable track record to successfully manage the reception, operating the switchboard and greeting / assisting visitors in a professional manner. Specific responsibilities will include: 

  • Using all features of the telephone system and voice mail;
  • Manage the reception area, boardroom and visitors; make sure that it is neat and tidy at all times;
  • When on duty, ensure the reception station is staffed 100% of the time;
  • Sign acceptance of deliveries and notify recipients;
  • To provide administration support within a range of activities;
  • Which includes post handling, ordering stationery, arranging couriers;
  • Coordinating meeting room bookings on MS Outlook;
  • Perform routine office tasks necessary for the operation and presentation of a professional office.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo competency testing and credit/ITC checks.

Requirements

  • Excellent telephonic skills
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in reception and operating a switchboard
  • Must be punctual and able to work every day, from Monday to Friday (8.30am-4.30pm)
  • IT skills – Excel, Skype, Word and Outlook

  • Ability to work on own initiative and plan workload with limited supervision
  • Constant display of professional image and manner
