Job description

Reporting to the executive producer: Against all Odds, your job profile include:

• Come up with unique story ideas that can be told visually
• Conduct office and field research
• Plan and develop visual presentation of piece
• Shoot story using the best possible light, sound and images
• Film sequences in continuity for editing purposes
• Edit piece and promos in the most creative way possible
• Write strong scripts that match the pictures
• Help train and upskill junior staff members
• Anything that is required of you to put out the best possible show each week

Requirements

• A keen interest in news and current affairs
• A Journalism degree
• At least three years’ experience as video editor using digital equipment.
• At least three years’ experience as a journalist/producer
• Ability to fill in as a second cameraperson – i.e ability to shoot using digital equipment
