DiepCity Creator Mandla N Pens A Heartfelt Condolence Message to Lebohang Mpyana’s Family. It has only been two days since her passing, and everyone is still shocked. Lebohang Mpyana passed away om Wednesday, after a short illness according to an announcement made by a family representative.
Many knew her as Khelina, a role she played on Mzansi Magic telenovela, Diep City. Although Khelina was nosy, she was also a funny character, loved by many. For her role in the show, Lebohang won the Viewer’s Choice Best Actress award at the 2021 Royalty Soapie Awards. Before her DiepCity gig, the award winning actress, comedian singer and MC had also appeared on Mathata Ke Eng, a Moja Love show.
The end of DiepCity was not the end of her TV acting career. After DiepCity, Lebohang was cast on Yolo, an interesting drama on Mzansi Magic. She was acting alongside the likes of Simphiwe Ngema and Moshe Ndiki. Lebohang then bagged yet another role on Mzansi Magic drama, Umhlola ka Zodwa. She played the role of Ausi Gloria, a church lady who tells it like it is. Lebohang also made a name for herself with her comedy videos on social media. She entertained her followers with jokes in her language, Sepedi.
As tributes pour in her fellow DiepCity cast members also shared their beautiful moments with Lebohang. Among those are Dawn Thandeka King and Chrispen Nyathi. The creator of DiepCity, Mandla N, also paid tribute to Lebohang. The actor and producer consoled Lebohang’s family and added that she was a very talented actress.
