Oskido : “From selling boerewors outside the club, now hustling worldwide”

Oscar Bonginkosi Mdlongwa AKA “Oskido” is one of the pioneering artists to popularize the Kwaito genre of music outside the townships of South Africa thus making him to be regarded as a legend in the South African music industry. His career came into limelight after he volunteered to perform at a night club where he used to sell boerewors (sausage) after a scheduled DJ failed to show up.

After reworking some songs and formulating his own kind of sound into cassettes, he went on to release compilations like Mixmaster and Big Jam thus making him popular outside Johannesburg before he was introduced to Bruce “Dope” Sebitlo, a South African musical act who went on patner Oskido to form the Brothers of Peace band.

Oskido is still shutting it down in the music industry even today and has recently taken to his Facebook to motivate his fans more telling them that anything is possible and that dreams can become a reality. The music legend is proof that anything is possible, he is currently in Spain for some new opportunities.

He wrote: “From Razzmatazz days selling boerewors outside the club, now hustling worldwide. I always believed it was possible. I tell my kids all the time in life DREAMS can be a reality. Whatever your dream, GO FOR IT! Now hustling NEW frontiers – Ibza, Spain.”

Believe in your dreams!
