While these were great news making it a reason for celebration, some social media fans were not happy about the news as they began to attack the TV personality on social network site Twitter leading to the start of the trending topic #OpenUpTheIndustry.

Instead of Twitter users being excited about her new job, they attacked her and claimed there were tired of seeing the same faces on TV shows.

The #OpenUpTheIndustry was about how television and radio shows should give attention to new talent instead of casting the same people over and over again. People in the entertainment industry defended being cast in more than one show by trying to show that they cannot survive on one gig.

Boity has became the latest family member to be added onto MTV’s family tree.

Boity said in a statement: “I’m Ridiculousness’s number one fan and I’ve literally been glued to the screen since the first episode, so when I got the call it was like a summons from on high! I feel like I’m getting paid to do what I normally do – which is watch internet clips with my friends, and my co-hosts make my job easier because Basketmouth is funny and Boity is beautiful.  We’re the dream team…”
